How it works
From existing records to a data license
A simple, step-by-step process for companies exploring business-data licensing, with no record uploads required to get started.
Describe what you have
Start with record types, source systems, approximate record counts and date ranges. A brief description is enough for an initial conversation.
- Choose company-controlled collections, not personal accounts.
- Identify useful context, such as actions, decisions and outcomes.
- Do not send confidential records or customer information at this stage.
Review potential fit
Datumi considers scale, quality, domain relevance and potential demand from AI labs. A readiness assessment identifies preparation needs; it does not approve a dataset.
Confirm rights and define scope
Your team and appropriate advisers review customer contracts, employee information, software terms and third-party content. Together, you identify included fields, excluded collections and permitted uses before moving data.
Prepare and de-identify
Datumi helps plan data preparation, consistent formatting and de-identification. Direct identifiers, indirect identifiers and sensitive fields all need review, because removing names alone does not eliminate every risk.
Review data and agree terms
Every proposed license requires a compliance review, data approval by the AI lab and signed agreements. Scope, permitted use, delivery, confidentiality, payment milestones and restrictions are all set out in writing.
Deliver and receive agreed payments
Data transfers and payments follow the approved scope and signed agreement. There is no automatic payment for connecting a tool, completing a form, or reaching a readiness score.
